Got Scissors?

Well it's been about 5 weeks with this cast and Gunner has about had it. Yesterday came up to me and said out of the blue, "Mom, want scissors!" And I calmly asked him, "Why do you need scissors?" His response, as he held his leg up high in the air, "Want cut it off!"
Since he's been walking on this big red boot for a while and, feels much better, he naturally wants to get it off. I guess I was just a little clueless (and nervous) to think he already knew what scissors are and what they can do!
After I told him that it has to stay on for a little while longer and explained that his bone isn't better yet, his response was "Not better yet. Almost done!" And then he limped away to play with his toys. This kid is so cute in every way and such a trooper with all he's been through! I'm loving the fact that he's beginning to understand more of what I'm explaining to him. It's fun to talk and reason with him. Well, most of the time...he is still a 2 year old!

That is one of the cutest things I've heard. They are so fun at that age aren't they?

So fun to catch up on everything. I'm so tickled that you're getting a girl! And I just finished the Twilight books a few weeks ago...same obsession getting them finished. I even read the first chapter of her Twilight book from Edward's perspective on her website. I really wish she had more time to devote to that one! Let me know what I need to do when you go private so I can still keep up with you. :)

Hugs,
Holly

How much longer does he have to keep the cast on? 5 weeks is a long time - especially for a 2 year old! I love that he is talking so much! I can understand Brock when he says one thing at a time, like "apple" or "puppy", but when he tries to speak in sentences he just goes off on a rampage and I have no clue of what he's saying!

My one experience with a cast reminds me enough, that I would never want to do it again! I believe him, that hw wanted that thing cut off! What a sweet, patient little buddy! It does make him look like a tough buy!

Congrats on the girl!!! I am so excited for you guys. My sister had 2 boys and was sure she was "doomed" to have another boy....but, she got her girl! Hopefully she looks like you. Oh yeah, remember me when you go private. stephzollinger@gmail.com

Poor Gunner! I know if I had to be hobbling around in a cast for the last 5 weeks, I'd been looking for some scissors too. I hope he gets it off soon! Congrats on the baby girl! So exciting! Just get ready for the drama. Girls seem to be so dramatic at such a young age, but they are so much fun. I love my little girl! (And boy!)

Oh my what a sweet little boy for being so patient with his cast. I think I would just loose it if V broke his leg.
