A few weeks ago I took the kids up to Utah to visit my grandparents (thanks Ju, for letting us go!) and we had a lot of fun. We did a lot of relaxing and the kids got to know their great-grandparents a little better. I felt it was important for them to bond with their great grandparents and to see where I spent so many summers when I was a little girl.
The plane ride to SLC was interesting. I had my younger sister Kenna with me and she was a great help. But, I wouldn't recommend flying alone with three little ones! Even though I was super prepared and had lots of games, prizes, snacks and bribery tools at my disposal, I still didnt have enough hands to handle all three of my kids, so I was so grateful I had my sis with me! Thanks Kenn!
All three and me on the plane. I am so glad that part is over and done with! Actually, the plane ride was pretty great. It was just the security and waiting beforehand tha was the tough part! Gunner thought it was so neat that we were in the clouds. He kept saying "We WAY up high Mom!" Caleb was, as usual, a great little traveler. Bree did pretty good too!
This little marble game has been around since I was a little girl. We'd always spend hours and hours playing marbles. You can say its kind of a tradition all the kids have when they go to Grandpa & Grandma's house. It was hand crafted and had wished I would've gotten a better picture of it! My boys just loved it!
This little park is in walking distance of my grandparents house so we went there a few times. The boys had a lot of fun and enjoyed being able to actually play outside without getting burned on the slides! Gunner climbed this rock wall on his first try and was so proud of himself. Way to go Gunn!
One of the best parts about going to Grandpa Ken's house is the FOOD! My Grandpa is a fabulous cook and made these very yummy peanut butter/chocolate bars and Caleb LOVED them. Good call Gramps!
I was also able to visit one of my good friends from my high school days! Debbie was one of the first girls I met when I moved to Gilbert and she was instantly so friendly to me. She is such a doll and hasn't changed a bit! I'm so glad we finally got to see each other after so many years!
These are her kids. Tyler and Anna with my boys...paying attention to the camera as usual!
Caleb really cannot get enough of his little sister. This was what Caleb is doing most days! Check out Breezy, I think she was trying to nurse Caleb's nose!
Bree was a great baby on the way home. She slept almost the entire plane ride home. It was a great trip and I hope we'll be able to visit again soon!
Love you lots Grandpa & Grandma! Thanks again!

Lovin' your hair curly! Fun trip to see family. Caleb is so sweet to Bree. Good idea on the way back to lay her down in a seat, you are lucky there was a couple open.:)
How much fun! I love when my kiddos see that I was once a little girl.
What a fun trip. Such cute pictures. Hey Kari, do all your siblings names start with K? I was just curious. Kari, Kristin, Kenna...
Utah weather sounds heavenly right now! You were so brave to travel with three kids, but just solidified my opinion that you are wonder woman!
Oooo, I bet the airports were just a blast! You are a true trooper, and I bet your family loved seeing the kids. Me too. I love the curley hair on you. It reminds me of growing up.
We are now bloggers. Our main website is wephillips.org and our overseas blog is http://wephillips.blogspot.com
We hope this will help us stay in touch with the ones we love. How is your Dad? How is Grandma Joyce? That's wonderful you had a chance to visit her. Hope to hear from you. Hugs
