Moments to savor

Yesterday was a great day. It was one of those Saturday's where you are busy but have those moments where you wish you could freeze time. It was a pretty typical day, went to Gunner's soccer game, did laundry, ran a few errands.

Then we took some time to go down to the park as a family. We packed some snacks and headed to the neighborhood park and played there in the beautiful weather. My kids were having so much fun running up and down the playground, playing soccer with their Dad and running all over the place. I was loving holding and cuddling with Breezy. We were watching the boys have fun, roll down the grassy hill and biff it every couple of times. Caleb even ate grass a few times, but got up laughing each time. I didnt take the camera but this is what Caleb was like...

I also enjoyed watching Justin and his boys run around and play together. It's so much fun to see how the boys love their Daddy. And Bree has such a huge crush on Justin. Every time he walks in the room, she gets a huge smile on her face and giggles so shyly. So sweet.

Yesterday was just one of those moments in time where I loved being together with my family and truly wanting to freeze time just so that I could look at each of my children's faces and memorize them before they grow up on me. I know life goes so fast and there are some days when I cant wait for the day to be over and to have a moment to myself, but I know this will pass me by in a flash if I dont appreciate the little moments. So, here's to our little family...enjoying the here and now, relishing the sweet times and loving each moment!

We had a good family weekend too. Isn't funny how these moments don't happen in the dead of summer? :-)

That's funny...I can't wait for the kids to grow up so they can get out of the house. Then we can buy a motor home and visit every major league baseball stadium and basketball arena in the nation. Just kidding. We are so blessed with a healthy and beautiful (thanks to you :)) family.

Love this post. I think as moms sometimes we need to just slow down and enjoy our little families...at least I do. Kids grow up way to fast and yours are so sweet! Thanks for sharing.

Loved your post! I can see them running down the hill with big smiles! Those moments are what get us through their naughty moments! (: I keep telling my kids that nobody is aloud to have another birthday. That's it. They must stay the same age they are now. (: Cameron says, "Don't worry. I'll still love you when I'm all growed up".

That made me cry! It is so true! Like President Monsen said "Enjoy the journey!" If you find the brakes on life...let me know!

Love it. Sometimes the best memories are the ones where you don't have the camera around. But they're etched in your mind forever!

I have been having those moments lately. I think time really is flying by! How do we grab on a just make it wait for awhile. No bills, no where to go, no stress. It is so nice to be with our families more than anything else! What lucky kids you have, that their mom wants that more than anything!

Thanks for your thoughts! Sometimes I get caught up in the hustle and bustle of things and forget to take time to relax and be a mom with her kids enjoying life. Yesterday I took Brody and Embry outside to do sidewalk chalk. I loved every minute, even the fact that they got filthy dirty. Thanks for reminding me that it's sooooo worth it!

Cooks,
We are so sorry for you and what you are going through with your little angel. It adds to my testimony the words from our Prophets. I'm so glad you enjoyed last weekend so much, and had a chance to take inventory of your life Kari, you guys are great parents. It shows in your kids. We are praying for you as well, and let us know if we can do anything. We extend all blessings available to you, and ask Heavenly Father to be with you as a family.

I balled when I read your last post. It's almost as if you knew a trial was coming. But we'll get through this. I love you all so much. I know I sound like a broken record, but if there's ANYTHING you need, just name it. Your Breezy girl is an angel... even when she's sick! I know Heavenly Father is mindful of her and your family. I believe in miracles, and what better recipient than Bree?! I love you, I love you. Kiss that sweet baby girl for me. I'll see you tomorrow. We're bringing in some Halloween decor to spice up her room!!

Kari,
I found your blog off of Summer's. I am so sorry to hear about your sweet Bree. You are an amazing mother and I admire your perspective on life. You are an example to so many people that you don't even realize. I just wanted to let you know that you and your sweet family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

My son has neuroblastoma, and I get google alerts for "neuroblastoma"-- and thus learned of your little Bree's diagnosis through the Bates blog. Please know I am praying for you in this very difficult time. There is a Neuroblastoma Handbook for Parents on www.nbhope.org/handbook (parts are still under construction) but some parts are very helpful especially for those just recently thrust into this awful whirlwind. Many many prayers for your beautiful daughter...

Forgot to add that if you are interested there is a listserv with 600+ well-informed parents, doctors, etc on www.ACOR.org (browse under mailing lists for N for N-BLASTOMA) and another NB specific forum on www.nbhope.org

I know this is overwhelming -- my email is ludfarm@arvig.net

Many many prayers for Bree
