First Foods

We tried rice cereal last week with Bree and she was quite unsure about the whole situation. I think she almost liked it but I might be trying to start her a little early, so we'll hold off a few weeks. Here are a few of my favorite pics of her:

"Mom, what the heck is this?"

"Okay, so I swallowed, am I done?"

"Dont you be going back to that bowl to get more of that stuff!"

"I think I'll stick to my milk"

This little girl is such a joy. Oh how I wish she would stay this way forever!

Did you think to Pray?

Last week we came home from swimming lessons and as I parked the truck, I turned around to get the kids out of their car seats and found this...
Aren't these the sweetest moments of life?!

Beatin' the Heat!

A few weeks ago we went to Espee Spray park in Chandler with my sis and brother in law, Joe & Alisa, and we all had a blast! Even though its a small splash park, it was still fun!

This was a big water tank that unloaded its water every couple of minutes. Caleb wasn't too sure at the beginning but he was really liking it after a while!

Bree even got in on the action. She is just so mellow and goes with the flow all the time. That's why I call her my Easy Breezy!

All the kids had a lot of fun together!

And this is my beautiful SIL, Alisa. Isn't she supermodel gorgeous!?
This is my favorite picture! We accomplished our goal. Tired kids! Yea!

Out of the heat!

A few weeks ago I took the kids up to Utah to visit my grandparents (thanks Ju, for letting us go!) and we had a lot of fun. We did a lot of relaxing and the kids got to know their great-grandparents a little better. I felt it was important for them to bond with their great grandparents and to see where I spent so many summers when I was a little girl.

The plane ride to SLC was interesting. I had my younger sister Kenna with me and she was a great help. But, I wouldn't recommend flying alone with three little ones! Even though I was super prepared and had lots of games, prizes, snacks and bribery tools at my disposal, I still didnt have enough hands to handle all three of my kids, so I was so grateful I had my sis with me! Thanks Kenn!

All three and me on the plane. I am so glad that part is over and done with! Actually, the plane ride was pretty great. It was just the security and waiting beforehand tha was the tough part! Gunner thought it was so neat that we were in the clouds. He kept saying "We WAY up high Mom!" Caleb was, as usual, a great little traveler. Bree did pretty good too!

This little marble game has been around since I was a little girl. We'd always spend hours and hours playing marbles. You can say its kind of a tradition all the kids have when they go to Grandpa & Grandma's house. It was hand crafted and had wished I would've gotten a better picture of it! My boys just loved it!

This little park is in walking distance of my grandparents house so we went there a few times. The boys had a lot of fun and enjoyed being able to actually play outside without getting burned on the slides! Gunner climbed this rock wall on his first try and was so proud of himself. Way to go Gunn!

One of the best parts about going to Grandpa Ken's house is the FOOD! My Grandpa is a fabulous cook and made these very yummy peanut butter/chocolate bars and Caleb LOVED them. Good call Gramps!

I was also able to visit one of my good friends from my high school days! Debbie was one of the first girls I met when I moved to Gilbert and she was instantly so friendly to me. She is such a doll and hasn't changed a bit! I'm so glad we finally got to see each other after so many years!

These are her kids. Tyler and Anna with my boys...paying attention to the camera as usual!

Caleb really cannot get enough of his little sister. This was what Caleb is doing most days! Check out Breezy, I think she was trying to nurse Caleb's nose!

Bree was a great baby on the way home. She slept almost the entire plane ride home. It was a great trip and I hope we'll be able to visit again soon!

Love you lots Grandpa & Grandma! Thanks again!

Remember when?

I saw this on my sis-in-laws blog so I thought I'd give it a go. Seems like some good clean fun...hopefully!

Here are the directions:

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together, or one of the first memories you have of me. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

Now, play nice ya'll!

4th of July Festivities

For the 4th this year we traveled up to Greer for a nice weekend at the cabin. The kids had a blast. The boys had so much fun playing with their cousins. There were 14 little kids! Talk about a party! Every morning, Gunner would wake up and immediately pop out of bed and say "I play with my cousins today!" For the 4th, we went to the Eager parade and took in the small town fun! We also stained some of the new logs for the back porch that's going up. They caught crawdads out of a lake (the older cousins actually did the catching...my boys just watched!), cooked and ate the crawdads, played outside in the rain, baked cookies, took lots of naps, ate cookies, played with the dogs and just hung out! Here's a small slide show of all the fun!

A Potty Story

In the past 2 weeks we've been potty training with Gunner and today he actually pooped on the potty and I was so excited! He was so proud of himself and he should be...this was a BIG step! What he would usually do is run off to a corner and go in his underpants and then come tell me by doing the 'waddle walk' and saying, "Mom, I made Elmo sad becuase I pooped on his face!" (He has Elmo and Mickey underpants).

So today, he was about to go poop and I ran him to the potty in the nick of time! He proudly told me to "go away Mom, I do it myself!" So I left, heard some grunting going on and came back and he had gone! Yea!! Well, the funny part was after that, he told me, "Now I go pee pee!"

Usually when he goes, I have to help him a little still so I went in to sit on the stool in the bathroom. (He was sitting on the potty and I was facing him). Caleb decided he wanted to come too and I happened to also be holding Bree at the same time (because after all, there was a party going on! Going poop in the potty is cause for a celebration!) So we are all in the bathroom (which is quite small) and Gunner starts to go pee pee. Those experienced Mom's with boys know what is going to happen next...something inside my head said, "Get out now!" Just as he starts to go, I see what is going to happen... the urine is coming straight for me! I turn Bree away just in time, and wouldn't you know, I get sprayed, Caleb gets hit and the wall is soaked! I look up and Gunner has the cutest smile (I wish I had got a picture) and says "Oops! Sorry Mom!"

Needless to say after that, everyone got hosed down and I took a shower. Oh, how I love being a mother. :)
