Catch up

This week we have been laying low and taking it easy at home. Bree has been doing great. She's happy as usual and hasn't been sick since our last hospital stay. We went in to the clinic and discovered her counts are dropping (which we expected) and her hemoglobin is low so she may need a blood transfusion this week but things are looking good. So far so good, anyway. Maybe I'll stop while I'm ahead and catch up on a few things!

Bree said her first word. Yea!! I put a quick video together of her saying her first word (with some help from big brother) and just some fun happy times we've had around here this past week. Her laughter is music to my ears! You have to watch the movie to see what her first word is! (Probably have to pause the music)

The boys have been up to their usual selves. Caleb has been doing so great in school. He's starting to match letters with specific pictures. Like A matches with a picture of an apple. He can do A-G and M, S & T! Go Caleb! He loves his teachers and loves going to school everyday. Caleb will be starting his spring baseball (special olympics) team next week. Cant wait to see my little stud muffin in action!

Gunner is my little rascal these days. He can always be found fighting the bad guys with his MANY swords. He has been caught too many times stealing knives from my kitchen to fight the bad guys in the backyard. It is cute to see his imagination at work. Lately he's been really into watching the Book of Mormon videos and keeps telling us how much he wants to be like Ammon...why you ask? Because he has a sword of course! (We are teaching him the true principle behind why Ammon was so great too!) He's also been quite naughty with getting out of bed at night. The past two nights this is where I've found him...
Stinker!

Justin has found a new love...for remote control cars that is! This was his birthday present this year.

This little machine can really move. It can even do donuts in the dirt! The boys love it and Justin loves to take it for a spin any chance he gets! Dont worry though, I'm still his #1. :)

And I have been really ambitious and have cleaned out cabinets, reorganized bedrooms and my pantry and I even planted tomatoes, zucchini, green peppers and strawberries. I've never had so many plants before so wish me luck that I dont kill them! I'll have to take some pics of my little garden plants, I hope they grow!

What a sweetie, she says it so clear. And her laugh is so sweet. I loved watching Caleb kissing on her. And little Gunner under the table asleep, how cute is that? You have such a wonderful family. Stay strong! You guys are great!

So cute--reminds me of my own kids--Brielle laughs harder for her brothers than anyone else! She was sitting on my lap watching the video with me and was so excited to see another baby. She kept pointing at Bree's picture. We'll have to get them together sometime. I'm glad things are going well and you are getting to do some "normal" things at home. Your kids are so cute--thanks for sharing that fun video!

Still praying for Bree!

Kari! So much cuteness in one post! I love your new layout and your video of the boys with Bree was priceless. She made me laugh out loud too. Cameron and Anna made me play it for them 3 times! Bree is adorable. I think "uh oh" is my favorite word. Or at least it ties with mama. (:

How did you find the energy to reorganize bedrooms, cupboards and to plant all of that?! We're nowhere near planting, but I can't wait. You'll have to give me some pointers. Today it's been snowing/slushing all day. I even slid on the ice and crashed sideways.... into the curb that is. (: Hahaha! We haven't had much snow this year, so I haven't really minded today.

Gunner and Cameron are two peas in a pod. The sword thing and the sleeping thing! It must be in the genes.

Yeah to Caleb for doing so well in school. Give him kisses for me. Can't wait to come to another game.

Love you!

Krista

Hi again,
I popped in again to see how Bree is doing, and look at her! The video was wonderful! I don't think there is a better sound than that of a child laughing.
I don't remember if I have mentioned before, but my sister has up-syndrome too :)
You have been given alot to deal with, but God only gives us what we can handle. You, are one of his special angels... I know this, because he has trusted you to love and care for those 3 beautiful children. :)
Enjoy your everyday moments! :)

It is so good to hear her laughter. It totally made me laugh! And I love that she says "Uh-oh." Claire is still stuck on "Da-da". What a great picture of Caleb. And he is doing so good with his letters! And that is hilarious that Gunner loves Ammon because of his sword! And way to plant a garden. I have the best recipe for zucchini bread; I'll have to get it to you.

So I don't even know you but I also live in Mesa and I found your story from Summertime designs (I don't know her either) BUT, the point of this is that I read your post about Bree and the cancer not being gone and you said that you are not that strong..... Heavenly Father would not have given you this trial if you could not handle it, so that alone says so much. Not only do you have a baby with cancer, but you have another son with Downs (my little sister has Downs) and that is a HUGE trial by itself. I am reading your blog, just in tears, amazed at your courage, optimism, faith, and beautifulness. I can't really think of a better way to describe you and your family than that. I am truly inspired by you. I have 2 boys and feel like I go crazy every day, and never face anything like you do on a daily basis, I'm sure. Thank you so much for being truly an inspiration and an amazing person to look up to. Good luck to you and your journey. p.s. my 4 month old son was sitting on my lap when I looked at Bree's pictures and he totally started coo-ing and laughing and smiling.....he thinks she's beautiful too! trisha, trishalisha@hotmail.com

Darling video of Bree - especially the giggling! And how impressive for Caleb to be recognizing his letters - that's awesome!! And what can I say about Gunner...he must have those same "naughty" genes that cousing Annalise has! :-) Love ya!

LOVE THAT VIDEO!! So stinkin' adorable! It makes me so happy to see your kids playing together :-) And go Caleb! That's awesome. Stay Gunner (in bed at night, that is...)!!! He's such a cutie. I miss you! I can't wait 'til we're well so we can come over to play! Hope you had fun at the zoo today! Wish I could've joined you! We continue to pray for sweet Breezy and the rest of your fam. Love you SO SO much!

I love the video! I keep hoping and praying that one day I'll come read the update that little Bree and her faithful family have successfully defeated this cancerous Goliath. The lives and testimonies you've touched by sharing I'm sure you'll never know. I hope you know how often we think of and pray for you all!
