A word about Bree...

(I forgot to document this in my last post about little miss Breezy so I wanted to make sure I record this so I can tell her when she's older what a good little patient she is.)

Nearly every time we go to see her oncologist, pediatrician or the hospital she is such a great little patient. In fact, she's very interested in what they need to do to her.  Take, for instance the last time we went in to see her oncologist. Every time we go, which is about every 2-3 months, she needs to get either a finger poke or a butterfly in the arm to draw her blood. This last time, the nurse asked if she could take her blood and do a little poke on her finger. Well, since I had her on my lap, I braced myself for her to cry. Instead, she holds her hand out for the nurse and puts her pointer finger out for the nurse to poke her. Then says, "Here you go."
What!?!
And naturally, I thought she would either cry or look to me to soothe her while she gets poked. Nope. Wrong again! ...instead she takes great interest in watching the nurse poke her finger and squeeze the blood onto the sample plate for testing. Are you as impressed as I am?

This little girl is destined for great things. She is extremely tough and yet is soft and sweet and loves to comfort others. She constantly melts my heart. She's been rather sneaky lately and will come and get in our bed at night. But, every time she does, I secretly love it. She'll caress my face and even pat my back.  She'll ask me in a very quiet whisper, "you okay Momma?" and she'll make sure I have my blanket on. Then she'll tell me, "you go sleep now Momma."
Like I said,
Melts. My. Heart. :)

That is so sweet! I think Heavenly Father must bless little babies who have to go through so much with great strength and a high tolerance for pain. Claire has to get blood drawn quite a bit to make sure her levels are okay with the amount of medicine we need to give her, and she never cries. There's an occasional "ouch" but she really just sits there. And she did the EXACT same thing to me last week as I laid next to her. She rubbed my hair and back and said, "Shhh, go to sleep Mommy." Our little wonders may not realize it yet, but I think they will become lifelong friends!

Oh, what a sweet little girl. She's been through so much at such a young age. She must be destined to be a nurse or doctor of some sort. I still can't watch even when I get poked. :) Good for her - what a gem!

Wow talk about making me cry...I have a little girl of my own and I can totally relate to how sweet they can be... I read your story about her and touched my heart. It's funny how I came about your story. Your friend has a blog summertimedesigns and I go to download her free scrapbooking designs and by the way I love them. So after reading the story I had to go to your blog which by the way is super cute. Thank you for being such an example of being strong and having faith. Your family is so cute and I'm very happy that your daughter is doing good I will keep praying for you and your family.
